On November 15th, 2021, I was invited by Mercy—a powerful community leader in Mongu, Western Zambia—to lead an experiential leadership training for young adults.

She didn’t ask for a lecture or donation. She asked for something deeper:

Empowerment

I said yes without hesitation. And then I listened. I spoke with local leaders and youth to understand their hopes. Three needs emerged loud and clear: Vision. Empowerment. Relationship.

That became our blueprint.

The Training That Changed Everything

With the support of GAP Community, we gathered 27 young adults and regional leaders. By the end of the training:

  • Every participant declared a bold five-year vision for their life.
  • They empowered one another, spoke into each other’s dreams, and practiced leadership.
  • There was even forgiveness and reconciliation between peers.

This wasn’t a workshop—it was a transformation. These young people didn’t just gain clarity; they gained power.

Why Empowerment Matters

Empowerment means helping people access the courage and tools to build their own future. And when they do—it spreads.

Join the Story

At Harvest for Hungry Children, we believe empowerment is one of the most lasting gifts you can give. These trainings don’t just inspire youth—they activate leaders, restore relationships, and plant seeds of long-term change.

If you’d like to be part of that change, consider sponsoring a Youth Empowerment Training. Your support helps us provide curriculum, transportation, meals, and follow-up mentorship for young adults eager to pursue purpose and impact in their communities.

Thank you for helping us raise vision-driven leaders.
